This is the ‘spin off’ of 2002’s greatest hit ever in Asia – Shaolin Soccer… spinning off a sequel to be called – Silly Kung Fu Family – with only one member of the entire cast remaining – Wong Yat Fei. In fact, he is the lead, playing the same character as he was in Shaolin Soccer, and in fact the movie has many similar aspects – kung fu soccer, comedy, romance, but lacking the vital ingredient – high budget, a brilliant director in Stephen Chow and again the actor Stephen Chow! This movie is so dud, that copy from every bad movies, and putting it into one, any references to Shaolin Soccer is making it a disgrace. To call this movie is bad would be an understatement, as it is so low budget it ruins any form of potential that this film may have.

The plot is so non-existence that I will not even comment here. However as to the performances, Wong Yat Fei is a quite likable character and one of those rare films that allow him to be the lead. His crossdressing resembles a much superior Robin Williams's Mrs. Doubtfire, but the movie is no where near that emotional depth, those it does look like a copy cat version of it. Loretta Lee is once again, pretty faced and is still very pretty despite being in her late thirties now. Her presence reminds us of her earlier works, but only a sad reminder as she is seemingly out of the mainstream big screen pictures nowadays and restricted to straight to video or low budget crap like this movie.

All I want to say is that this movie should not be viewed if you loved Shaolin Soccer. The only reason for even a viewing of this crap is probably if you want to see a movie with Wong Yat Fei as the lead. Otherwise, stay away! Once again be warned!
